Allegedly A GamesRadar Editor is Not a Fan of That Blog I Like
Yesterday I shared with you all a fine new addition to my daily reading. Game Journalists Are Incompetent Fuckwits is a simple blog. A blog about standing next to a videogame journalist and shouting really loudly that they suck. Well, now a games journalist is standing next to him and, well… yeah.
People Who Whine About Game Journalists Are Pricks is a blog seemingly about calling Ben Paddon, the guy behind GJAIF, a nob. It was set up a little while ago by somebody claiming to be Games “we post Pokemon porn so you don’t have to” Radar editor Tyler Wilde (though he very much denies this) who doesn’t seem to like the niche Paddon’s wallowing in.
One of my favourite posts so far, in what’s sure to be an entertaining exchange, was when PWWAGJAP posted “Ever heard of ‘œdon’t like it, don’t read it?’ Ben Paddon has not.” I enjoyed that post because, ironically, it appears the author has also not heard of this. Paddon has already replied to the matter, if you’re interested.
Something I do find strange is how things have gotten rather personal rather quickly. What, yesterday, was one unknown guy complaining that the professionals he relied on for gaming news were incompetent, seems to have taken a turn to we-know-where-you-live town today. Last night the vg-jouno elders gathered on Twitter to meta-dissect things (as they are prone to do of such matters) and somebody worked out who was calling them lame. Much name-calling was done and it seems poor little Paddon and his unpopular trolling was unprepared for the backlash. For starters maybe-not-actually-Wilde totally questioned Paddon’s performance with the ladies.
At the time of writing both (the real) Paddon and Wilde were arguing on Twitter with each other, whilst everyone stood around and subtly egged them on like in a school yard. I didn’t really want to reach either of them for a quote so let’s just pretend they said stuff.
You know, if bloggers and journalists weren’t so shit, none of this would have happened. Just sayin’.

Jesus Christ, get a life you twat.
@Michael: HAHAHA
I honestly wish more blogs would follow Giantbomb’s format of enthusiast reporting, instead of trying to validate their stupid practices like top ten lists and multiplatform graphics comparison.
@darkwhitehair: I completely agree. I think GB is one of the sites I now check daily. They just get on with talking honestly about games, and they produce by far the most useful stuff.
I love Twitter drama!
I’ve created a new blog!

I really can’t disagree with most of the criticisms on GJAIF, as many games writers aren’t often that insightful, or even very good at writing in general. Present company excluded, of course.
Part of publishing anything is taking lumps from those who will inevitably think whatever you’ve done is shit, for reasons real or imagined. If GamesRadar’s Tyler Wilde can’t stand the heat, maybe he should step away from the keyboard. Instead, he’s basically raised the profile of his critic instead of deciding not to be so shit. Bravo.
It seems all of the rage got to him. Ben Paddon updated the tumblr saying he’s going to ‘take it down a notch’.
Games?
