StarCraft II Release Date Announced
If you’ve been enjoying the StarCraft II multi-player beta as much as I have, you’ve likely been wondering “When the heck is it actually coming out?”. Well, we’ve just received a press release from Blizzard stating that it’ll be July 27th (of this year).
I’m certainly excited, the beta has whet my appetite enough for the campaign, and I kind of need it now. While they have set a date, I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets delayed for one reason or another. Even in the press release, they’ve covered their ass if they do indeed have to delay it.
Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. announced today that its highly anticipated real-time strategy game, StarCraftâ II: Wings of Libertyä, will arrive in stores throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Mexico, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and the regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau starting on July 27, 2010. Players will also be able to purchase StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty directly from Blizzard Entertainment shortly after the retail launch…

As much as I love Blizzard and their games, this release date is almost a tease to me. It’s far out enough to be believable, but not far out enough to be pushed even further back. I guess we’ll just have to wait another couple of months to see if it does in fact drop on July 27th.
