Sony Close Down PlayStation Room Project Without Explanation
Sony have cancelled the portable version of the PlayStation 3′s virtual world Home without explanation.
Announced last September, PlayStation Room was set to be the PSP equivalent of Sony’s Home service. It would have enabled players to create 3D avatars and have access to mini-games, blogging, chat room features and photo sharing.
Room was planned to be free to download and use, but like PlayStation Home there were plans to add “paid services and content” to the service.
Room’s website was updated with the announcement, although it didn’t provide a clear explanation as to why the decision was made to shut down development of the service. Up until now it was in closed beta stage in Japan and the notice Sony left on the Room website stated that they received “valuable feedback” from beta participants.
Perhaps the feedback wasn’t as positive as Sony would have liked?

I imagine most comments were “An ugly fucking waste of time.”
I’m not trying to be snide, but I had no idea this existed, and if I did, I wouldn’t have cared.
