Gamestop Gives Conviction Midnight Launch
Those lucky enough to live in the US can go to a midnight launch of Ubisoft’s latest Splinter Cell game, Conviction, when some GameStop stores will open their doors to anyone too impatient to wait. On the first minute of Tuesday, if you’re as eager to get the game as I am, you can go down to your nearest GameStop to pick up a copy there and then – instead of being patient and sleeping first.
Mark the 13th of April in your diaries – a day off work may be necessary. Just check here first to see which GameStop stores are opening at midnight so you don’t go trawling around at night looking for a copy of the game. Oh, and if you pre-order from GameStop beforehand you’ll get an exclusive, in-game shotgun.

I don’t understand who goes to these midnight launches. I understand these types of launches for new consoles and games like Halo 2, GTA4, Modern Warfare 2 etc but I don’t think Splinter Cell is apart of popular culture like those previously mentioned titles are. Surely you can wait 8 hours.
Why wait when you can use that 8 hours to play through the entirety of the single-player campaign?
