Hey Dan, April Fool’s Verdict

Sup Dan, editor of NG and fellow PAX reporter,

As somebody who replied to my “we have been bought by Gawker” internal staff email April 1st message with “You fail at april fools.” I thought an update may be in order. Personally, I think our upgrade on Kotaku‘s annual list from “Lame” to “Bad” shows promise, even if it’s more to do with them renaming their categories than me actually being more amusing. Still, when ScottyG isn’t the one complaining my joke sucked and some people thought we were really suing Evony via Canada, I regard it as a success.

On the topic of The ‘Tak, I genuinely laughed at their Koticku post, but only because I gain enjoyment from groan-worthy puns. For me the only annoying part of April 1st is all the people who lament that the internet apparently stops functioning, as if they are being stopped from doing something important by our child-like fun. Stop being cool, you people.

Anyway, remind me next year to put somebody else in charge of our shenanigans, see if we can’t get into The ‘Tak‘s “Ugly” category instead.
