Missile Escape is an oft frustrating, yet unyieldingly addictive title recently released for Xbox Live Indie Games. Tasked with piloting a twitchy fighter jet (sans weaponry) around a weaving barrage of homing missiles unscathed in increasingly outnumbered scenarios, it’s a real throwback to instant, joypad smashing pick up and play. Thanks to developer Maximinus, we have five sparkly redemption codes to give away.
To enter, all you need to do is post a comment detailing the game that’s wound you up the most and what it’s driven you to do (make sure you’re logged in). Expletives and caps lock are positively encouraged in reminiscing over just how aggravating gaming can be.
Though I’ve never really suffered true game rage, my brother to date has broken game pads in double figures. Of particular note was one tense penalty shoot out against me in Pro Evo 4, in which his unscarred sibling record finally fell to rapturous cheers and a splintered dual shock.

Excellent game ! seriously very fun, stressing enough, simple enough, and nice planes, missiles and landscapes. I doubt you could regret the amouunt of this game. I spent at least 3 or 4 hours playing since yesterday. I play 10 mins, and then I’m doing something else. But finally after a while I launch the game again. I start to be addict… Congratulations Mr Maximinus.
I used to get stressed at games such as Goldeneye or Perfect Dark, I hated to lose against my friends so I ended up either punching someone or turning the system off.
Call of Duty 4 got me so pissed off I started a blog. True story.
GEARS OF WAR 2 MADE ME THROW MY CONTROLLER ACROSS THE ROOM AND BREAK IT I WAS WELL PISSED OF WITH IT WHICH ALSO ENDED UP BREAKING MY HEAD SET AT LATER ON IN THE GAME ME SO FUCKED OFF
I have absolutely NO IDEA why I still play Team Fortress 2, the game defines infuriation for me… At my worst:
Goldrush map, I am playing as scout I am “proing” it up being all ninja like bouncing illogically all over the cart… I am thinking to myself “there’s no way that sniper can hi-” Respawn In 15 seconds…
Zoom I am off all scoutey like, I come flying out of the 2nd floor window, land on the cart, cart starts moving, commence ninja dance, stop for a microt (wooh farscape) to shoot a passing soldier… same damn sniper shoots me in the foot, Respawn in 15 seconds…
Sufficiently pissed, switch to pyro “gonna get that son of a bitch 12 year old richkid expletive”, I am charging up his flank now, 10 seconds and I am there, 5 seconds…BOOM, CRIT ROCKET OUTA FUCKING NOWHERE… Respawn in 15 seconds…
FIST MEETS DESK. Cat jumps off her warm spot on top of monitor.
FULLY ENRAGED is the only way to describe how I am feeling right now, 2:02 left in the round, plenty of time, ignoring my team, the cart and all the incoming fire I charge up his flank again, I reach his spot and see his back… He isn’t moving much, Ninja mode activates… I stalk up to him W+Mouse1 gogogo, HE IS ON FIRE, CRIT, CRIT… RESPAWN IN 15 SECONDS…
BACKSTABBED, SERIOUSLY?!@
Commence 10 sec wait to see if he burned to death…

Woah, I think I set a new personal record for grammatical errors in a post but I am sure you get the gist of it.
I don’t have an xbox, so I’m not looking to enter the contest, but the topic interested me enough to post.
I’m sure there are many other (and possibly better) instances of game rage, but the two that come to mind the most readily for me are:
1) I think the closest I ever got to actually throwing/breaking a controller was trying to get the “shines” in Super Mario Sunshine on the bonus levels. Specifically, one was the stage where you have to float down a deadly river with a current on a leaf and grab something (coins?) while propelling yourself with your water backpack. The other one was the vertical pinball machine coin-collecting stage. I never did manage to get all of the coins on either one.
2) Way, way, way back in my childhood, I remember renting Athena for the NES. I couldn’t even make it past the first boss. I got so mad that I remember covering the entire desk (NES, TV, and all) with a bedsheet and refused to go near it until I had to return the game.

RAWR! Ok, this one is gonna seem really random and stupid, but here I go. If anyone here has heard of an old show called Monster Rancher, you may not be very surprised to know that there is a video game for it. A while ago, I wanted to watch the series because I felt ridiculously nostalgic for the days when I would sit in front of my couch and watch Saturday morning cartoons. When someone told me there was a video game, I instantly reverted to my five-year-old self and went “ZOMFG THAT HAS TO BE AWESOME! LOL!” I immediately downloaded it. Guess what? Predictably, the game SUCKS FUCKING BALLS. It doesn’t just suck though. It made me angry it sucked so bad. And it didn’t just make me angry enough to rage quit. It made me angry enough to rage-want-to-beat-the-hell out of the thing. I mean, it sucked so bad, I wanted to punish the game for sucking so bad. It basically sucked me into a black hole of pure shit, and I couldn’t escape. I spent 10 hours playing that game, before realizing, wait, what the hell am I doing? I deleted the game shortly after.
Long story short- NEVER PLAY THE MONSTER RANCHER VIDEO GAME!
