hell ya i would play a twilight game if somebody would make one i have the twilight game for the WII, and have been waiting for a new moon one, but nothing has came about. there is so many was u can make it a good game. just add the movie parts to it and the books to it. hell u can do it like the harry potter ones. i hope that somebody makes another one. i have alot of friends that have been woundering if there was going to be any more. just make it fun and exciting and it will be a hit

Its a awesome story and the movies are doing good, but they will ruin the story if they make a video game. They end up teaming up together, not fighting eachother so why would they make a video game with info that doesnt happen. I agree with who ever said it they would do it to kill all the shitty characters and honestly what would the game be? There is like 5 seconds of slap fights in the movies and alot of deppresion… Who would want to play a game about heartbroken fucks? I think twilight would make a great game….it should be plotted like the books…I do agree that it would ruin the story…so my suggestion would be to make a twilight game, a new moon game, an eclipse game, and a breaking dawn game and release them right after the release of the movies, that way it doesn’t ruin the story for the people who have not read all the books.
I do have a disagreement though, I think that the game should be on wii and xbox 360, I personally know a lot of older women who have xbox 360′s and would love for the game to be able to played on the xbox.

Honestly twilight sucked as a book and movie series. If it goes to gaming it will only be and insult to those of us who are actually fans of vampires werewolves and the like. I really wish people would stop messing with a good thing and leave the preternatural and supernatural things to those of us with a pure unadulterated appreciation of it. To be honest i’m a big fan of vampire and werewolf movies but in like the last two years or so the quality of them has gone down. A game made out of this, the most horrible teen flick vomit inducing trash is simply a waste of time because most people in the world dont even like the books let alone the movies. This craze is only in America and that is the only place where this garbage will sell. Even where i live most people went to watch the first movie in theaters and then watched the second one online and thought it sucked. bottom line dont waste your time trying to make money on a concept that is quickly wearing out its welcome…

Ew, please, no. No more. No games. I’m ashamed to say that I actually use to love Twilight, but for a while now I’ve seen the light. It’s utter crap, and a game for it would be horrendous! It would consist of Bella crying and whining and being useless while pining for Edward. God no. And don’t even get me started on the other characters. Since in the books they prefer to have the vampires and wolves play nice together, it would be best to wait until Eclipse comes out to make a video game where the Cullens and wolves can fight the army of new vampires as they try to kill Bella. Final scenes can have Edward or Jacob go up against Victoria, just like in the book.

I saw an article on this same topic just a month or two after Twilight the movie came out in theaters. There is nothing to base the game on! The game would either a) be very boring, or b) have nothing to do with the movie.

Well, I actually think the twilight series is pretty good. not really sure what sort of game they could make from it but i have a few ideas and i would love to see a twilight video game. I think it could work pretty good if they set it up where you can play as different characters from the series and have different tasks and such to do, it could be done, and it could be done pretty well i think.

I’m not necessarily a hard core gamer, but I still like good graphics, a decent story, and good voice actors. Things that are never usually included in a game based on a movie. The books were poorly writen (an editors nightmare) and the game would probably follow suit. Plus, what kind of game would they make? It can’t exactly be an action game or an RPG. There’s really nothing to go on. I say that knowing that I’m a girl in the 20-30 year range.

I actually got pretty excited when I saw Twilight on the front of a Wii game. But was disappointed quickly when I saw it was just a Twilight Scene It game. I’m not a gamer but live in a house full of them. As much as I normally don’t like video games, I would definetly play one based on the Twilight series. My 15 and 11 yr old daughters both agree, especially if it was for Wii – maybe XBox 360…..it would be nice if they put out some type of game females would like.

Have you read the books? There is tons of action as the story goes on. I know a ton of guys who refuse to watch the movies at the theatre because they are afraid they will be made fun of but the moment they came out on DVD they were the first to buy them to watch in private. Any gamer knows that movie games turn out to be the worst games in history, of course that’s for regular movie games. If we tried bringing out this game, I am d%$# sure the only people who would buy, that sad excuse for a game, are the teenagers and teenagers ONLY. YES, I think it’s a great Idea. I personally loved the books and the movies that have came out so far. Twilight could easily make at least a couple hundred million because the actual movie made a world wide gross of almost 400 million which is pretty good but if you give the people what they actually want and make the game fun along with some nice graphics and scene clips I believe it should sell nicely especially since video games are more of a guys territory, so not only will girls between the ages of 10-about 30 would buy it but then some males of that age group might end up buying it too which could possibly get them interested in buying the movie.But make sure not to make the advertisement better than the actual game use real scenes from the game because if the people aren’t assured that’s what they’ll get then most likely they won’t

Oookay so basically the jist of everyone’s remarks to a twilight video game are negative, due to the fact that the movies consist of mostly drama and little action. My opinion is that the video games that sell the best are action, adventure, and roleplaying. Everyone loves vampires and werewolves no doubt but because of thier vicious nature, i’m not saying make the next bestial grand theft auto but it would be nice to fight as a custom character of either race… a free roam or mmorg game would be excellent, but only if it were to be a post twilight game (events after the movie) with a load of action!

and on another note….there needs to be a damn werewolf game! you could be werewolves that hunt vamp,s because they broke the alliance….people killing could be acceptable too ;)

As a general gamer- I’ve noted that most Movie based Video Games either tend to a) Bat around the storyline- butchering it up for gameplay, (ex. Barnyard, for example) or b) Swap out for a new storyline all together. (ex. Over the Hedge)

I’ve played a number of third-party games, mostly movie based ones- and to be honest, even the “best ones” could use some work. But here’s what I came to say: It might not be that bad, if they do it right. (Which is indeed, unlikely.)

They could incorporate a high-speed chase scene using either Jacob or Edward- though Jacob would be more fitting, using split paths and different routs that could either shave or make you loose your precious time.

Possibly even strength scenes with dear Edward, or co-op it and have both playable (Providing they use Path B: storyline change), Edward being stronger while Jakey-boy could be much more agile, along with his ability to shapeshift into a wolf, providing combos and possibly stun damage.

Of course, considering this Bella wouldn’t be playable, as she is a damsel in distress (Some role model, SMeyer). Unless of course they have a puzzle scene, where she could be pseudo-playable, not able to do much, but generally useful- for once.

OH BUT OF COURSE, how can one forget about the motorcycle scenes? Lots of possibility there, collected money could go to upgrades, extra fun stuff- they could even have them hover. (It is a video game, doesn’t have to be EXACTDESU.) Again hopping back to a chase scene concept.

Hallucination scenes could provide playability as Edward, if they wanted to play it as close to the Storyline as possible. Give it a sepia or greyscale tone, add creepy sound effects, and there you go- one messed up scene.

Or opt out for ANOTHER trivia game. (Like we need any more of those.)

But really, am I one to hope for something good to come out of this series? Is there no hope at all? I suppose so. (did I really write in support of this? No- just hoping it’s not another failure that will make millions, per-say it happens.)

Quite honestly the idea of a video game based off of the book series and movies would be one of the most idiotic ideas ever. In retro spec yes, it would sell billions because there are thousands of preteens and middle aged women who for some reason find themselves enthralled with a series where there is some little git that can’t think for herself or function without a man being present. I can only image what kind of horrid game might result of it. Even if one follows the books exactly for the plot and story line for the game, or games, it would be like any other dating sim you can play online only with actual graphics, moving…and fighting…I suppose. But then that leaves the question as to who you play. Do you play the idiotic twit that cannot function properly, a metro, emo little putzy sparkly ‘vampire’, or a werewolf who is one of the most annoying and whiny creatures in all of creation. The only way to have any real FUN with that game would be to play the werewolf or vampire, unless you want to make it bad ass and equip the angst queen herself Bella with some silver and a crossbow and have HER go out and kick some vampire ass…which would never happen because it would not sell to the group of individuals this game would want to sell to.

So yes. For the company, Stephanie Meyer and everyone involved it would probably make them billions and would be an extremely good idea. As to the gaming community at large…well, it would be a disaster. Sure it might sell, but honestly…who wants to play a little twit that can’t think for herself, and is without doubt the most useless character ever created. It would be boring, and pointless. If you want that, go find a vampire dating sim online. I’m sure there are a few out there, one or two might even be related to Twilight.

I agree it would be nice to play a video game as a werewolf or a vampire, that would be amazing. Just like it would be amazing to play as an actual zombie or something. But at least be slightly original with the idea and create something that can be loved by all. A kick ass game with…romance…sure…I guess, killing, storyline and possibly character development. If this game were created no I would not play it. I would cringe away from it just like I do when I see commercials for the wretched movie on television.

I’ve played some bad games over the years: Orphen: Scion of Sorcery, Chaos Legion (Good plot, bad execution) and some others. But I really don’t want to play a game that features some Mary Sue-type girl dating a marble statue that’s been raped by pixies and enjoyed it, and is competing with some feral dog the size of a horse.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I haven’t read any of the books, but I can’t make myself read them, my inner Cryptozoologist in me would scream in agony if I did, because I am a firm believer of Vampires not looking like a fairy pissed on them.

I don’t think it would be a bad idea. I myself wouldn’t buy it, and obviously the other people that posted in this thread, but thats probably because most of us are more serious gamers. We like to get the best games and the best only. If they made a game for twighlight I would suggest it be something like and adventure rpg, something like Devil May Cry, where they make some of the characters powers expandable. I wouldn’t make this game too advanced because I would want to attract the more casual entertainment orientated gamer that doesn’t always get all the concepts of more advanced games like Fallout or World of Warcraft in which some people it would take literally months to even guess what to do. And yes I know Fallout and “WoW” cannot be compared but in some respects there isn’t much difference to some of my friends that don’t get into gaming as much as myself. I simply think that people would by the game no matter what the game content is since people simply are “in love” with the characters in the books and the movies. I say yes to it in a business state of mind. Why not profit of it. I’m pretty sure Robert and Taylor wouldn’t mind being characters in video game.

I would personally love to play a Twilight video game, however I only play Playstation and very, VERY rarely will I play Nintendo. More specifically I play Playstation 2 and while I want a Playstation 3, I am perfectly happy with the PS2 – which is fine as it will probably be a while before I am able to afford a PS3.

I would not think that this movie would be a good game… you have the plot of course but what would the players do in the game… i would play it once and never touch it again and that is not enough for me to spend 50 bucks on a game i will play once.

let see from what i heard the book is ok but the movie is so bad that it makes the guys from queer eye look cool. let see you got robert pat fuckerson who look like a heroin junkie who cant really act anyt expression and you got that stupid kristen stewart screaming half the time cause some guy dump her and you got that taylor guy who might be a better of a actor than rob. but all in all i think twilight is a average cliche emo story that little teen girls and women who either think or want to be cool with their teenage counterpart would like. and if it were to make a into a game it would just be a game where everyone would just commit suicide. giving the story a more sensible ending than the 4 part stories that the author squeezes out from the depth of hell.

Honestly, there are very few genres to be explored by creating a Twilight game. Unless it was to be some sort of original-character role play game, it would be extremely boring and lack any sort of actual, semi-enjoyable plot. The writing from the books pretty much stifles any creation within the time-span of the books and afterwards, unless you wanted to focus on the “Amazing Adventures of Nessie the Half-Vampire and her Creepy, Pedophile Lover”, which may be an interesting possibly if executed right (knowing the author of the books and writing staff of the movies, it wouldn’t).

Still, that’s not to say to give up on the idea. Being able to create your own vampire or werewolf and then possibly finding a coven/pack to complete missions with against your enemy (be it other races or your own) could be fun for many fans. Then, of course, adding in romance would be a huge plus for the freakish girls (and whatever deranged guy takes an interest in the cult-like series). However, the graphics would need to be stunning, as the poorly written plot would be too distracting otherwise. To be perfectly honest, I would look forward to a Twilight game, if only to see how ridiculous it is. I can only hope that they don’t try to use the actors from the movies to do voice overs — god only knows how annoying the sheer awkwardness of cast will reflect in any of their dialogue.

I am sad to hear their rejecting the idea of MMORG. That would definitely garner a lot of attention and players, but I can understand why they wouldn’t go for the idea. They probably don’t realize that you can make a lot of money by having people pay monthly in order to play their guilty pleasure. (Just how much money does World of Warcraft make anyway?) The game could go on for years, making the profit constant, and then the bonus cash of making the players pay for “special items” could become extremely high if the benefits are good enough. It’s a solid idea their too unfamiliar with and scared to explored. Pussies.

I for one, don’t see how this is even possible, i mean would they just throw out a game where you play as one of the main characters from the movie/books? If so is it going to be a sandbox type of game or a level based? I really don’t see how this could work, most games need a back story all there own to have any real value, now idk maybe doing a sandbox multiplayer game may work where you choose to be either wolf, human or vamp but even then that may not even work. idk im just a bit skeptical about the whole idea of a twilight video game.

I’m a huge gamer and I work at Best Buy. I am glad that twilight has not released a game yet. Most games based off a movie suck. When black friday comes around those are the games that we mostly have in $10.00 bins because we have lost money from no one buying them. If they do make a game they will have to make it for ps3 and 360. They should make it a free roam with the ablity to pick which side you want to be on.

My girlfriend has all the books but I stopped borrowing it from her after the first chapter. The movies are way better and I can not wait for the next one to come out.

Making a video game for Twilight would be the stupidest ideas ever. The market would be very small and they would end up losing money rather than gaining money. Serious gaming companies aren’t THAT stupid. The video game would be another game that would end up in the bargain bins so that their market could afford it in the first place.

I think a Twilight game would be a travesty. Im not big on twilight but i have watched them and the contents of the movie would leave for a borring action game period. Besides, we have all seen and played games before with similar themes.

If they do make a game, there best bet would be a PS3 game and the graphics and story line would need to be done by those who do Final fantasy ( square Soft ).

The game would fare well with great cinematics. Any voice overs should be done with the actual actors or not at all.

The game should focus on side plots that add to the movies and interweave, answering some questions and opening new paths.

Fineley, there must be a realistic or believable reason for everything that happens. No outrageouse powers or stupid characters. Keep things true to the movie and books, consult the writer on a few things and mix up the gameplay. No monotonouse walking and talking, walking and talking.

Some good fight scenes in key areas would greatly improve the chances.

I also think a partial mix of online play should be involved in order to unlock or gain access to special cut scenes that they dont show in the movies or entirely new scenes that explain time gaps in the movie.

First off, don’t EVER compare Twilight to Harry Potter, second off, if Stephanie Meyer can’t make good books for anything, she sure as hell wont make a good game. There’s no interesting game play at all if it were to be made! The Harry Potter series, for example, features an expansive magical universe with NUMEROUS characters, a greatly UNMATCHED plot line, and morals to be learned. What does Twilight have? Zero game play value, a plot that could easily be a highway in the middle of the desert. its so flat, and only a few characters. Think about things, people! Look at Transformers, despite the fact that it was a GREAT successful series, a fan favorite, spawned awesome movies and toys etc., made some kick-ass movies, but the games? The games did, in fact, suck. So even if you Twilight fans with no life wearing \Team Edward\ underwear right now want a game, think about it before you ruin gaming as it exists right now. It;s going to suck eggs. Just like the rest of the series. There are too many things going against it.

I’d support the game for one reason and one reason only: Getting to watch the glitter vamps die in HD again, and again, and again. The only downer is that Raziel or the Sarafan couldn’t slaughter the freaks.

I fit the 20-30 female demographic but I would NOT buy this video game. For the love of Vampires I’ve read the books and I’ll even watch the movies (though every time I’ve gone to the theater I’ve wanted to kick myslef). But a video game based on Twilight would prolly BORE ME TO DEATH.

Additionally it may be the author herself holding back the production of a video game, given her religious principles and all. Since a video game about Vampires and Werewolves with little to no violence would be a hard sell the author may not want to authorize a more aggressive or action packed game.

It would have to depend on the story line. If it follows the Twilight story line then no, I would not play it. It would be boring because the story of a human girl falling in love with a vampire has over-done.

I am a huge fan of Stephanie Meyer, and all of her books. I think a game would be great, but only if it were approached in the right style. A game based on the movies would be a disaster, Edward trying to protect Bella, ugh. However a MMORPG based on the “World of Twilight” might be something else all together. One where you could choose to start Vampire or Human? Perhaps where you would have to be “turned”? Where you could choose to be a “veggitarian” or “carnivoire”? Can you imagine being hunted by your home town because you “drank” to many of you neighbors? What might your gift be? What if you angered the Volturi? (mispelled prob) Would you fight or join them? I mean sure there would be dozens of items to work out how they would work, but I could see the potential there… However I seriously doubt that a company would spend the time and invest the $ to do something like this, no matter what the potential profit might be.

Okay me for being 21 and a total romance goober, I have to say out of all my books that i have collected since the age of 5 the Twilight saga is probably on the lowest part of my shelf getting chewed on by my dog. Twilight has a stupid story that has been bashed by critics. Few are the critics are didn’t bash Twilight. Turning it into a game would be cash cow, sure, because people are sheep and flock to whatever is popular at the time. It is a property full of horrible characters and a worse plot. The entire premise of a Twilight video game seems illogical. How can you possibly make a drama into a video game? Okay, there’s Heavy Rain but that has multiple endings depending on your decisions. Twilight has only one ending. There isn’t enough action in the Twilight series that would make for a worthwhile effort.

So yes, making a game based off a movie sounds like a good idea in terms of profit and marketability. It would however be a huge waste of money on developers and the gamers. Fanboys may rejoice but it WILL lack substance. If it does get created, prepare to see it in the bargain bin at Walmart within a few months.

I have to say ive read the books. Watched the first movie and well i dont see where it would make a very good game. It lacks the right kind of storyline that most games have. I am very much a Gamer and ive been one since i was young. I just dont see what kind of game it could be made into. An im one of the fans pre movies once the movies came out i just lost all like for the book just because its mostly romance not alot of action that the other vampire movies/books have. If you want a vampire game there are much better books and movies out there to draw off of with more action and better plots.

I am 39 and a lifetime gamer. If its not on PC, it’s not for serious gamers. I have read the Twilight saga and enjoy the movies but would not buy a video game based on it. It would have to have high end graphics, plenty of bloody violence earning an adult only rating before I even considered it.

Gamers actually know what they want in a video game. You already know the idiots are going to get all defensive. They’re going to say yes no matter what. They know NOTHING about games.

I currently play an online game called Guild Wars if they made an online game along the lines of Twilight that would be sweet I’ve read all of the books an have seen both movies so far can’t wait for the rest!!

Personally I think Twilight would loose plenty of the charm that has earned it a mass of loyal followers, if turned videogame just like many other movies to videogame adaptations that have come before it, however there is a light at the end of the tunnel and it is in the form of MMOs.

Turbine had a great idea when it came to developing the LORD OF THE RINGS as an MMO, and their design of this now famous MMO is a blazing example of a movie getting ahead in the videogame industry.

Indeed many good movies out there have enough in their world to become excellent MMOs, to give an example HARRY POTTER, for which fans everywhere have been calling for an MMO ever since LOTR made it big in this medium only to have their hearts broken year after year.

Twilight and its series could do a lot worse than trying a hand at this gender; lets face it, who would not want to play a heart breaking vampire or a hulking werewolf, and I’m sure they could throw in a swamp monster in there somewhere.

For years the MMO industry has been lacking a good classic monster MMO and Twilight could be the one to bring it out, with its particular twist, bringing in plenty of action while leaving the romance to the players themselves.

…. LOL kudos to you man. I think I get what the developers are aiming for this game now. They ruled out the action in the game, The ruled out the story in the game, They ruled out the major gamers in the game, They ruled out alot of stuff untill they were left with 1 Girl character and A whole bunch of Guy Characters…This is starting to look like a Porno game with an unllockable orgy mode. Honestly IF I had to make a game of it. I would just make a porno game. Its not like they HAVE to follow the story cause there really is none.

To be honest, I don’t even want to bash Twilight anymore. Hell, not even bashing. I give out my opinion, which I try to rationalize as much as possible, yet the fans attack me. It’s gotten annoying.

Listen Twilight fans (although this applies to everybody, too), everybody has opinions. Sure, bashing may seem… a little unnecessary, but bashing back is even worse. It’s like adding fuel to a fire that’s already burned you halfway through your epidermis. Not good.

My take on the video game; they’re just milking it. Yes, I know it’s the first VG adaption, but the fact is that it’s mainly there for money. I am honestly not looking forward to it (well, unless the gameplay or graphics or story [wtf] actually ends up amazing, which I doubt). But that’s just my opinion. I still wonder if a fan is going to irrationally bite back. Just wondering.

@mommyofizzy08: first of all i believe they are asking for opinions from gamers (since they are the ones who buy video games) not just fans of twilight. second of all I’m going to go out on limb here and say most of us on here do have jobs other wise we wouldn’t be able to buy games just a thought. third whether you like or hate twilight if you look at it logically a game made from this just simply would never work in anything other than maybe a sims clone even as an MMO I’m not so sure it work. harry potter might would work but you still have more to work with when it comes to HP there’s plenty of fantasy to play around with but twilight you still just have glittery vamps and pansy werewolves if you want vampires and werewolves in an MMO I think Underworld would work in that genre also.

I just keep coming back.: that is exactly what I’ve been trying to tell all these people who act like a twilight game would be the game to end all games. and there’s a reason there aren’t many games like The Sims out for a reason while I like The Sims there really just isn’t room for more, they would flop like a politician. Like irridescansun said if anything it would be based on the movies and I just don’t see that working in a game whether you like twilight or not (I don’t) it simply would be a waste of money for any developer to pick up.
