BioShock 2 DLC on Its Way. Sigh
If a game is only conceived when a group of managers predict a profit, it would be silly to assume the inevitable DLC wouldn’t be rubbish. BioShock 2 will be getting both multiplayer and singleplayer DLC packs over the next few months, a press release from 2K has announced.
The multiplayer DLC pack is coming first and has two extra character skins and some new aesthetic-only masks. That’s fine I suppose, if you want to pay a bit extra for your character to look nice. It’s not like you’re paying to get an advantage… the DLC also comes with a higher level cap and a new upgrade available for every weapon currently in the game. Goddamit.
Whilst there’s a chance those who buy the DLC will get their own playlists to keep things fair, that chance is slim. What details that have been made available regarding the new content implies that paid-for-unbalancing is just the order of the day. Is a man not entitled to pay 400 MS Points for a better gun!?
This, combined with the rumours floating around that the audio recordings of the new characters are already on disc (indicating heavily that the content is simply being held back), means that when the “aggressive” DLC starts going up for sale people like me will probably be moving along to a different game. That’s a shame.

what is 400ms points? Maybe you should say how much it actually costs so us non ms people(and ms people)will be able to tell how much it costs. thanks.. also I hate all exclusive content that comes from gamestop (and others)like the new red dead, so many different places to buy the game each with thier own special weapon or horse, its bs and I hate that they all let it happen. all dlc should be available online and most of it should be free, like the little add ons, clothes weapons. ok I’m done.
@ryuken: It’s around $5 I believe ($.99 on the PSN), though it’s different in different countries.
@wardrox: thanks but now I feel bad cause I was just being a dick. wait so it’s only .99 cent on PSN? sweet deal.
@ryuken: whoops, my bad, it’s $4.99 on PSN
@wardrox: haha its cool I thought that would be weird, so weird that it would have made the gaming news.
Feels somewhat early to announce this DLC. Doesn’t give much incentive for casual players of the multiplayer to purchase either. Five bucks seems to be an easy price to pay for many though.
It’ll be on the disc already. Either that or it would have to be a forced download. The DLC-being-on-the-disc problem is just going to have to be a given with any online multiplayer game.
Anyhoo. I don’t have such a problem with a multiplayer game getting DLC, what is an issue is the terrible lag and loss the game suffers on each platform. It is crippling an otherwise very fun multiplayer. Fix yer broken game before you throw more stuff at it.
agreed, I’ve only played it for an hour or so (multiplayer) and I got dropped out of a game that I was kicking ass in, not cool loosing your kills/points. so is it happening alot? i just moved and my internet will be back up anytime so I’ll be going back to my precious multiplayer games. mostly MAG and the DC:2 demo though
They should be patching the horrendous freeze rate of online games before getting around to any of this. But money talks, I guess.
