A Message To Nintendo: Make These Fan-Made Zelda Screenshots Into a Game

Dear Nintendo,
I feel the need to pretend to write to you about Zelda with regards to finding an innovative way of making an article out of some brilliant fan-made Zelda screenshots. Looking at said screenshots I can comfortably say that the creator has absolutely no idea what they are doing and Twilight Princess was perfect and was exactly what I wanted from a next generation Zelda game.
You may have realised by now that I am lying and have nothing but constructive criticism to give you about the latter Zelda games in the franchise.
To whomever this may concern at Nintendo please take a look at the fantastic images that a loyal and devoted fan has created using Garry’s Mod and find it in your heart to adapt them into the next Zelda outing on the Wii. Sure, the screenshots depict a more vivid approach to the violence in Zelda. However, how can you disagree with me when I say that this is what a next generation Zelda game should look like?
While I am just one person, I hope that you take a look at the pictures and at least consider the possibility that maybe, just maybe The Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks and Twilight Princess weren’t as good as they could have been and making a Zelda game that looked like this would be a good move.
Thank you for reading my message.
Yours faithfully,
A massive Majora’s Mask fan who wishes you would revive the magic of the N64 Zelda games for this generation.
P.S. I have attached a gallery of images for your delectation so you don’t even have to open a new webpage to admire the craftsmanship. However, if you would like to see more then you can also view the original site here.

Sorry. I can see your point but I have to disagree somewhat. Looking at these screenshots I think they just represent a rehash of old titles with fancy graphics. I mostly like the direction Nintendo have taken with the series, though admit I’m a relative newbie to Zelda games, having only played my first one in 2003 (though I’ve been a gamer since the early ’80s).
I have however become quite a born-again Hyrulian, and Wind Waker has become my favourite video game of all time, ever. I thought Twilight Princess was wonderful (on the GameCube) and I’ve played Phantom Hourglass and Minish Cap on my DS, both of which I really enjoyed. I’ve yet to pick up Spirit Tracks; the train concept irks me a bit but I’ll probably like it.
I have to say Ocarina Of Time is my least favourite Zelda really, but Majora’s Mask, which I’m currently playing, is really rather special.
Hmmm…. I think I’m being a bit too positive here ;)
@Mark B
The Zelda series has followed a similar path to the Sonic one: the old titles were the best, the series was getting repetitive, trying to spice it up & adapt to next generation didn’t go as well as hoped, gave the main character the ability to turn into a wolf like creature at night, changed the way you view in third person…
Sega are now going back to what was really popular & are reimagining the best form of Sonic with updated graphics. These screenshots encapture the older Zeldas, but have next-generation graphics. I would love Nintendo to go back to Ocarina of Time & Majora’s Mask and say “these aspects really worked, let’s try and make a next-generation Zelda that incorporates the good points of the best Zelda games.” I admit that I have yet to play Wind Waker (I’m a bad person, I know) but the old Zelda N64 games I played were the best Zelda games.
Also, Twilight Princess could have been better.
I’d like to see some variation in setting or genre in Zelda. I’ve had an idea for making a victorian/steam punk Zelda by mixing in small elements of Dickens style character traits (link a poor street urchin in the dark urban city around Hyrule, Gannondorf a corrupt aristocrat) while using less dungeons and more involvement in the over world. New costumes, item designs and characters for a game that I think would translate story genres well due to its simplicity.
cell-shading, Wind Waker, git ‘er done!
