Chris Buffa’s Videogame Journalism Pet Peeves

Over on one of my most liked “[adjective] gamer/s” sites, Industry Gamers, Chris Buffa the EiC of GameDaily has listed some of his videogame journalism pet peeves (writing articles based on lists doesn’t make the list).

Whilst I agree with the majority of what he says, I do take some issue with his call for less negativity (obviously). Buffa asks “Whatever happened to playing games for fun, and then enthusiastically praising them?” As far as I can tell, that’s what the videogame media already does, all the time. Though I accept some act mean for comic effect, and it’s that group he’s probably talking about rather than us.

Anyway, the list is here if you’re into that sort of thing.
