Phantasy Star Portable 2 Whore Themselves To Breaking Point

Phantasy Whore Portable 2 more like. Ha!I may not know much about the Phantasy Star universe, but I do know when I see a company’s business model implode. At the point where you loose any and all respect for your game to the extent Alfa System have, just give up.

As well as giant Coca-cola cans, Phantasy Star Portable 2 now comes with a Pizza Hut shield and sword, with no apparent profit being passed on to the gamer. Don’t buy this game. The developers are either in dire financial straits, or just don’t care about their own games.

As andriasang point out, this probably won’t be the last of the shameless acts as there’s still an empty spot on the game’s official site’s collaboration section. First person to say “well, I understand this from a business perspective” gets a slap in the face.

It’s shocking how everybody is shocked by this, although THIS is already old news:

Also I should read more careful.

Say what you will about the evils, but the weapon in that picture is so retarded, it almost makes me want to pick up the game just so I can use it. Pizza Hut has a history of doing stuff like this in Japan. A recent example that comes to my mind was the anime Code Geass, a giant robot show about a high schooler initiating a rebellion in Japan against the occupying British – which had Pizza Hut boxes placed around his room and the mysterious female lead constantly clutching a giant plush of Cheese-kun, Pizza Hut’s mascot, with no shame whatsoever. (Strangely, they scrubbed out the logos when it came to America.) At least no character ever referenced the brand or praised it in some way, but it was still blatant advertising.

*evils of marketing

Haha, no, when I saw that picture I thought it had to be a fake. I would be ok with this if they were passing some benefits onto their players, but if not then that’s just shameful.
