World Record GTA Session. Why Not?
Got nothing to do for 30 hours? How about playing GTA IV? Yes, in a ‘feat’ of gaming courage, Chirantan Patnaik will be attempting to break the Guinness World Record for playing Grand Theft Auto for the longest amount of time.
A world record for playing computer games? Not quite up there with pulling a jumbo jet or growing your fingers nails, but still something. I guess. The current record (who knew?) is set at 28 hours, and with Mr. Patnaik (at the time of writing) on 11 hours, he’s still got a fair way to go. He’s surprisingly never played GTA before, so should be able to complete the game, or maybe kill every pigeon in the city that also never sleeps. (PUN!).
Here’s some other things you could do for 30 hours:
- Eat crisps.
- Sleep.
- Eat more crisps.
- Read every post on Negative Gamer.
- Not play GTA IV.
Seems to me that it’s rather ridiculous that you can get a World Record for specifically playing the open world shooter. I honestly can’t imagine Roy Castle being that impressed, but it could be worse. Imagine playing Tetris for 30 hours..? Even more enticing is the fact that you can watch it, hour by hour on a blurry stream via Mr. Patanaik’s website. Good luck to him, I hope he gets the record, which of course will be broken again by next week.

Am I the only one curious about what he does when he has to take a dump?
I think he gets 10 min breaks every hour, which I guess is slightly cheating…
It is totally cheating. He should have to sit in his own excrement. Call me harsh if you like. ;P
