Konami Rips Off Europeans With MGS Touch
Konami is offering MGS Touch for the iPhone/iPod Touch for the discount price of $2.99 today only.
MGS Touch has two problems: Its (arguable high levels of) mediocrity and its (too) high price of $7.99 / ‘‚¬4.99. The second problem has now been addressed by Konami, by dropping the price (only today) to $2,99 / ‘‚¬3,99.
I don’t know what Konami does to get the ‘‚¬ price, but it involves a lot of bullshit. Not only is the drop for the EU territories significantly smaller (okay we paid about $1 less to begin with), but now they have to pay double the price. Last time I checked $2,99 exchange to around ‘‚¬2,10.
It’s not like you can justify the higher price with shipping or import costs and the like. They just know that they can get away with it, because it’s not like you have any choice to buy the game in the US store if you are in the EU. Way to go Konami.

It’s still cheap and to call everything that is more expensive over here a ripoff is going a bit too far.
On a side note: Thanks to Microsoft points nobody complains about the enormous European prices for XBLA games.
