EGM Suscribers Get Porn Instead of EGM
Are you an 18-34 year old male? Almost definitely. See how easy it is to know about your target audience? Presumably UGO Entertainment do too.
Electronic Gaming Monthly stopped being published in January when 1up was acquired by UGO, but the subscriptions were not cancelled. It seems that gamers are getting popular gents’ skin mag MAXIM instead. Which features pictures of girls whopping their busters out for the lads (not in the US version, too rude).
Evidently subscribers can opt for a refund instead. But knowing your stereotypical gamer it doesn’t seem like too many subscriptions will go unused.
Am I the only one who finds this a little bit insulting? Maxim? Really? It’s so shamefully blatant that they’re taking advantage of a predictable market. Who the hell pays for stuff like this? We have the internet now. Hell, even Maxim are online.
Hey look! They write about videogames too. That’s the most informative five sentences I’ve ever read about Gears of War 2 before being linked to a website where I can buy it. Clearly their knowledge of gaming knows no bounds.
If you’re going to get MAXIM, don’t. Get FRONT instead (looks like it’s going out of print in the UK anyway according to an uncited wikipedia entry).

Wow this is highly inappropriate. I remember reading EGM when I was twelve. If I had received Maxim instead my mother would have flipped the hell out. What are they thinking? Like the situations where this is a bad idea are near infinite. For shame.
My fucking school library got EGM this year, and I don’t know if they canceled the subscription. Holy shit.
