We’re Looking For New Writers to Join Our Team (Of Awesome)

Negative Gamer has seen a lot of changes over the past six months and has grown considerably. We have an audience of thousands and are gaining real influence in the gaming communities and, arguably, within the gaming industry itself.
To help continue our goal of world domination segways for all, we are expanding out or family and looking for more writers. People with the same passion to make the gaming world better, more accountable and, well, less full of bullshit that this place has become known for.
Things that we (well, realistically I) am looking for;
- Gamers who know what this site is about and believe in the ideas behind it. If you just want to write press releases and copy/pastered news to get free games I’m sorry, but I’m not interested.
- People who have enough free time to contribute at least once per week. It’s also important that when events, like E3 for example, come up that you understand that more stuff needs to be done and are willing to help out. It can actually be quite fun (ask Gandy).
- People who don’t mind breaking some eggs. If you are writing for this site, things you write will probably be disagreed with by a fair number of people. This most definitely isn’t our goal, but it is an often noticeable side effect. I also hate wishy-washy opinion pieces that try as hard as possible not to add anything or upset anyone.
- I want people who agree that Dinosaurs are the master race.
- You must have some writing experience, even if it’s for your own blog. All posts are passed via an Editor. If the Editor is spending as much time fixing typos as it would take for them to write the entire article themselves, then it’s just not worth it.
- Please have a personality and an actual opinion (as long as it’s backed up and not “lololol PSFAG moar liek”)
- I want people who don’t mind feedback and can learn from it. At least to begin with there are a lot of things to remember with writing. Taking feedback on board and learning from it really is important.
And if I still haven’t put you off applying, please send me an email (wardrox[art]gmail[durt]com) with a bit about you, what makes you want to write for this place and a couple of writing samples. Ideally I would like you to write an example news post and an example opinion piece, the content is up to you. If you have your own blog, I would love to check that out too.
In return, you can ride my dinasour when I am rich and have one.
