Garriott To Sue NCSoft Because They Were Kinda Dicks

As we reported yesterday, Richard “he went to muthatrucking space!” Garriott is suing his former employer NCSoft to the tune of $24 million. Well, now we have the details of the claim and it’s not pretty.

GamePolitics have a link to the full complaint filed. In it, Garriott basically says that he was forced out of NCSoft. The company then illegally told everyone (including the press) he had resigned voluntarily, much to Garriott’s objection. The kick here it that because he “quit”, he had to sell his stock (worth millions) within 90 days, as oppose to the two and a half years he would have had if he was fired.

Just to make NCSoft seem like even bigger dicks, Garriott was told he had to “part company” with NCSoft during a phone call that took place just days after his trip to the International Space Station, whilst he was still in Russian quarantine. That’s got to put a downer on possibly the best holiday ever.

All of this might not be true, as nothing has been proven, countered or even confirmed, but it is still quite damming on the part of NCSoft. For what it’s worth, I hope Garriott gets his $24 million, then he can not only go back to space, but he can build an awesome moon base where I can eventually live.
