Shadow of The Colossus Picked Up For Movie Adaptation. Oh God No

As a precursor, please don’t do this. Please?
The story is that Sony are working to adapt Shadow of the Colossus into a movie. Producer Kevin Misher is working to get it all together, and that’s not all. The movie is being written by Justin Marks, “famed” writer of the recent Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. That along with the apprehension that people have with video game movies, I don’t see this coming to life.
Thankfully it’s still being set up, so there is no guarantee yet that we’ll be staring at it on the screen anytime soon wishing that we were in a coma like Mono. It does strikes me odd that they choose this for a movie. There are a ton of other games that would be better suited for a movie adaptation. And by “better suited” I mean “also not for use as a”.
This just has bad idea written all over it. Just make a Gears of War, or a Killzone movie. Not everything needs to be made into a movie and this game is best left alone.

I’m not hopeful about this flick in the least but I know that it will never be as bad as The House of Dead, that’s terrible movie adapatation.
Is… is that Robert Mugabe kicking a Shaolin monk in the crotch?
