American Students Want to Hug Attack Dogs

Awww, look at the doggy...

File this one under ‘I See Stupid People’, a group of animal loving students in Massachusetts are planning on sending a petition to Activision to protest the killing of VICIOUS WW2 ATTACK DOGS THAT ARE TRYING TO KILL YOU in Call of Duty: World at War. Petition starter Breanna Lucci said :

Killing dogs as a form of entertainment … over and over again. That’s one of the objects of the game. Parents need to know what they are buying their kids. Killing animals should not be a form of entertainment.

The rest of the article done by the Lowell Sun runs through all the usual anti-videogame arguments, that the actions of the game desensitize players to violence and that videogame violence makes people more prone to commit real world violence. All the usual rubbish that has been disproved over and over again yet still continue to be dragged up by the anti-videogame lobby.

The main problem I have with this article though is that it fails completely to put the killing of dogs in the game in any kind of context. It’s a choice between killing the dog or having the dog rip your throat out. I don’t know about you, but in that situation I’d much rather kill the dog.

I had a phobia of dogs as a kid because next-door had a shitty alsation which used to run around or garden scaring the crap out of me. CoD:WaW helped me not go shoot up a school though repressed emotions.

Rabid Says:

And yet they have no problem with Cabela’s Safari or Alaskan whatever it’s called where the animals aren’t even trying to kill you? These people need to rethink their priorities.

Rebid: absolutly right. i think this is just another example that people need to get off video games and there players. kids shoot up schools and such because there deranged children. its not because they played GTA 1-4 or a call of duty.
