Killzone Soldiers Are Iraqi?

Apparently! Kotaku reports that a teacher from Canada felt the Killzone 2 adverts contained a “menacing head with glowing eyes” and scenes of war “like Iraq”. Now, I’ve never played Killzone, either 1 or 2, but I HAVE seen pictures of Iraq and Iraqi soldiers. The similarities are endless. </sarcasm>.
She was quoted as saying:
My kids, who come from a lot of different countries, who have to experience violence, who basically come here to seek shelter and safety, that’s the stuff they don’t need to see,
Right. I’m sure every single one of those kids have never played Halo. Seriously. I understand kids being sheltered from violent video games, but advertisements of a face? You see worse things on the 5 o’clock news. THE NEWS SHOULD BE BANNED, TOO!
Leave it to a woman Canadian to complain about this. Toronto is basically the NYC of Canada. You mean to tell me the worst thing in a major city is a Killzone ad? No, I don’t think so. Try taking down the Victoria Secrets ads, or really any action movie ad ever made. But nope, those aren’t quite as disturbing as a man, in a mask. It’s not even menacing, it looks like a standard gas mask! Ohh, but the eyes, they’re the DEVIL. Right.
What also bothers me about this, is that Sony just rolled over a fat seal with this. They actually removed 300 ads! It was noted that the ads were coming down in a few days anyway, but the principle of it stands regardless. What’s wrong with you Sony? You’re setting a terrible precedent, and you’re only feeding the fire of video games being evil. Stand your ground! I understand the PS3 is a failure, but you have to maintain what little testicular fortitude you have left!

leave it to women! they do look alot like those dirty ragtops i’m here to fight against…it is true…but honestly, i’m biased…anything that looks remolty dirty, nasty, germ infested, or just BAD looks like an Iraqi to me!
Good old fashioned racism. What exactly makes seeing an Iraqi soldier more/less worse than any other kind of soldier? Especially if we are talking ‘soldiers’, because then they would need to be part of the armed forces of Iraq right? Meaning they would have to be on our side.
Also smrdwnnow; I really hope that’s a case of sarcasm completely passing me by on the internet.
Frank, you write the best articles.
‘testicular fortitude’ is an excellent turn of phrase, i approve.
I am ashamed that my country has fallen to such paranoia and lack of common sense. I do however think a Helgast face mask could scare children but not as a “remind you of a war torn home” way but rather more like “jump out of your closet and eat your mother” way. Understanding that it might scare children but we need to remember that kids get the shit scared out of them by pretty much anything in the dark.
@Nerdfit: Thanks
@Xander: You go to Iraq and have people shooting at you, see how nicely you talk about them. Not saying Smrdwnnow is right, but I can see why he would be hostile towards them.
@Mark Thank you, I’m quite proud of it myself.
So long as I’m able to balance things out I’m happy!
Wait, to balance things out do I have to impregnate a girl from iraq and sire a child for each one he kills?
Yes. Yes you do. You will become an Iraqi Gigolo.
Huh, suddenly I’m glad for all the towels/rags around. Seems like it’ll get messy..
You sir, have just won yourself one internet.
