Quake: “I’m going to make you cry, and you’re going to love it”

It’s extended couple of weeks are drawing to a close. For possibly the final chance to join us for Quake 1 ML90E00PCFPSDMN, get your ass online tonight! Thinks are kicking off from 6pm EST (11pm GMT). If nobody is online, hop into our chat room the BRBu Vent server to see what’s up.

It’s the same three steps as last week to get yourself up and fragging;

Step 1)

• Install Quake. If you want to be super-l33t you should also install ezQuake. If you don’t use ezQuake and didn’t download the game from Steam (for only £5.99!), you will also need to install sexy new net-code for Quake. Download QuakeWorld from here (or here for Linux).

Step 2)

• Download the maps. They should download automatically when you connect to the server, but you can save a bunch of time by downloading them before you start. The shockingly huge 2.4MBzip with ever map you need can be found right here. Once downloaded, unzip the files into your Quake/qw/maps folder.

Step 3)

• Connect! Simply type “connect 18.243.2.105″ into your command line once Quake is loaded. To open the command line, press the Esc key You can also type “name [name]” to change your alias.
