ML90E00PCFPSDMN Starts Tomorow! Here is what you need
Mid to Late 90′s and Early 00′s PC FPS DM Nights (ML90E00PCFPSDMN for short) is finally upon us after many months of me being the busiest person ever. Firstly, thanks to the guys over at brbuninstalling.com (registration required), especially ScottyG for all the help.
For the month of Febrary, every Thursday evening we shall be playing Quake 1!
To join in, you will need:
- A copy of Quake 1 (Available on Steam for £5.99)
- If you didn’t get your copy of Quake via Steam, you will also need the QuakeWorld client available here (or here for Linux)
And that’s it. To get started, unzip the QuakeWorld files into the main Quake directory (remember, if you got the game via Steam, QuakeWorkld should already be installed). Once done, start quake using the qwcl.exe program. If you bought Quake via steam, choose to run QuakeWorld.
You should now be looking at a command line. There are only two commands you need:
name [name]
connect [ip]
The name command changes your alias to whatever you add in the name field. Connect will connect you to the Quake server. Ours is located at 18.243.2.105.
To let us all have a good old chat about things there is a very handy IRC room.
Server: irc.Dynastynet.net
Channel: #NG
If you want to use a web-based IRC client (that fills in everything automatically), head to http://negativegamer.com/irc/
Now, all you need to do is get yourself ready to ride my rocket tomorow night!

Yay got it working, looking forward to tommorow.
As will I
What time will everything be kicking off?
@Budr: Well, I get home from uni around 6pm GMT and the NGCast is recording around 3am GMT that night, so between then is when I’m plannin’ on having quake.
I get home from work around 6 as well so I should be ready to go around the same time, this going to be epic!
I get out of work at 10pm :(
Is the server located in the UK or USA?
Cause i like everyone else hate the new FPS games that ppl play now a days. And the old one player base is dying because of wow
@soul: The server is in Boston I think. Last night I was getting very respectable ping, so it’s fine from the UK.
