A Game Called LOVE
I was perusing GameTrailers this morning, sifting through the shit machinimas and crazy half-naked women when I stumbled upon this gem. This gorgeous experiment into how games can be developed more drastically with efficient and new technology is being developed by a single bloke: Eskil Steenberg.
LOVE is a ‘procedurally programmed’ not-quite massively multiplayer game that will seemingly thrive on its users and how they interact with it. The world allows itself to be edited by players and allows players to change what other plays have left behind them. For 100-200 players per server at about 15 Euros for 30 days of service I think this is a definite indie winner. Obviously this is still far from completion but for pre-alpha footage it’s looking brilliant.
A visit to the official website yields some interesting reading. If you are interested in this sort of experimental game design this is a definite one to keep an eye on. I certainly will be and I predict it becoming quite popular and very interesting indeed.
[Ed - X-Play have a (slightly annoying) preview of LOVE which is quite interesting. Danshir also has an interview with the game's creator, Eskil Steenberg]

It’s definitely an interesting idea. Definitely a PvE type where people work together. But one thing that always worries me with an online game is the jerks and dicks that like to mess it up for everyone else. The idea to use radio frequencies and keywords to open doors is pretty cool though.
News to me, and it looks awesome. Thanks Half.
this game seems really boring
I managed to attain and maintain an erection while watching this
Then it is certain. This game will make billions.
