“Muslim Massacre” Creator Apologises And Pulls Game
The highly controversial indie game “Muslim Massacre” has been pulled from the net by its creator in an attempt to say “sorry” for any offence caused.
In a statement issued on the game creator’s home page, Sigvatr (internet name), who also makes the not-safe-for-work anyone webcomic Electric Retard* apologises for misinterpreted intentions.
Although it’s hard to tell if the statement is driven by true sincerity, or by the realisation that many people feel strongly against him and his game.
I would like to make a public apology for any offense that I might have caused through releasing this game, and to Muslims in particular. My intentions when releasing this project were to mock the foreign policy of the United States and the commonly held belief in the United States that Muslims are a hostile people to be held with suspicion. I would like to make it clear that I have never shared such a belief and my intention was to mock those who actually do believe these things.
A comment backed up by one written back in June on the SomethingAweful message board where he made mention of the fact he had purposfully added “social commentaries” throughout the game and that “The Muslims represented in the game aren’t meant to be based on actual Muslims, they are more like 2002 Fox News Terrorist Jihadist everybody panic Muslims.”
His statement continues:
It quickly became obvious to me that releasing this game did not achieve its intended effect and instead only caused hurt to hospitable, innocent people. I believe removing this game and website will do much more to attain my desired effect than leaving it on the internet, so I am doing just that.
I would like to ask for the forgiveness of Muslims around the world and to make it clear that I did not release this game with ill intent. So without further ado, I would like to say that I am truly apologetic for what I have done and will take full responsibility for all offense that has been caused. I can only hope that any further misgivings can be laid to rest.
As noble as his removal of the game from its original website is, he must be well aware that when something gets released onto the internet, it’s there to stay.
So what do you think, an admiral atempt at redemption after misinterpretation, or a damage control excersise?

UPDATE: It appears Sigvatr has had a change of heart and put the game back online.

its actaully a pretty fun game
the only problem is the framerate sometimes slows down (and the whole muslim hate thing too)

after all someone has to defend the poor defenseless muslims around the world. We cant expect them to be able to riot in the streets and burn things EVERY time someone says something negative about them. And with all the killing of their own damn people that they do around the world how can we expect them to have time to defend themselves.
Get real people, muslims right now are responsible for most of the most savage and blood thirsty behavior going on in modern times. They are slaughtering Christians all over Africa and the east, they are blowing each other up in the middle east, and would love to get over here to blow more of us up the first chance they get, so dont give me this muslims are harmless shit. Many are, but far too many to ignore are not, deal with it.
The plight of muslms in the world today is not worth bashing your own country over, not if you live in the USA.

Don’t know what you have been taught, but last I checked, the Taliban are not accepted by the majority of the Muslim world which accounts for 99.99%. Since I am sure you will argue the fact that you do have a brain, try do the maths and figure out how much 99.99% is of 3billion (number of Muslims in the world).

Ok guys enough, killing muslims in ethogy is just plain wrong, its as wrong as going to South Africa to kill blacks only. (Even though their are non-blacks there) in a fictional enviornment that depicts the area as having solely blacks. It’s the same thing – so please lets be happy this is gone and move one. I really appreciate the man ( the creator ) because he apologies and make an statement about that, i really respect this man because in his heart he has feelings about us and he care of not hurting any one.
