Better Late Then Never, PS3 Getting In-Game XMB Next Month?
Yeah, we have all heard it before, the rumors start that all the stuff we wanted in the PS3 at launch is coming in the next firmware update. The update comes, and goes, and we still don’t have it. Is 2.40 any different? Well, the rumblings about in-game messaging, trophies and universal friends list is louder than it has been in a while.
If this update does bring with it all the promised goods next month, I for one will be delighted. Actually, I tell a lie, I won’t be delighted as such, more likely I will have a rye smile on my face as my PS3 becomes able to do the thing’s my 360 has been able to do for years.
Why these features have not come out sooner is still beyond me. I bought my PS3 a year after my 360 and found the lack of features almost crippling. My PS3 will happily tell me I have a new message, but then expects me to exit the game to read it?
Sony, there is no shame on copying what MS have done, stop trying to cover it up or “go beyond”. Just give me what I expect for this generation. You can add the extra crap later.
